Clay shooting is one of the fastest growing sports in Britain. Hundreds of thousands of people shoot on a regular basis for fun, or by competing in competitions. It is one of our most successful international sports and contributes over £1bn to the UK economy.
Clay targets (commonly known as clay pigeons) are discs of pitch mixed with limestone. They shatter when hit by shot from a shotgun cartridge. They are thrown from traps set up in either a static layout such as Skeet or on varied and unpredictable paths for Sporting.
